Alexa Gendron-O'Donnell

Biography

Alexa Gendron-O’Donnell is the Canadian Competition Bureau’s Associate Deputy Commissioner, heading up its Economic Analysis Directorate. She oversees a team of economists who provide support for the Bureau`s enforcement branches, including reviews involving mergers, monopolistic practices, cartels, and deceptive marketing. Alexa has held a number of previous roles at the Bureau including Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Cartels and Deceptive Marketing Practices for the Quebec and Atlantic regions where she oversaw civil and criminal cases relating to bid-rigging, price fixing, false and misleading representations, and deceptive telemarketing and Advisor to the Senior Deputy Commissioner for the Mergers and Monopolistic Practices branch. She has equally acted as the Canadian co-chair for a number of working groups with the International Competition Network, including Mergers and Agency Effectiveness. Alexa holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Queen’s University.
