Biography
Mathilde Heaton Lawyer and Art Law Consultant, Art Law Advisory Responsible Art Market Initiative, member and coordinator Mathilde Heaton is a lawyer and consultant with over 17 years’ experience, specialized in art law and intellectual property. She is an active member and the coordinator of the Responsible Art Market Initiative, a non-profit, cross-industry initiative dedicated to sharing responsible art market practices. Senior legal counsel for Christies for 7 years, she has worked in Hong Kong, Paris, London and Geneva. Prior to joining Christie’s, Mathilde was a Legal Director at DLA Piper. Mathilde founded her art law consultancy in 2017 and is currently acting Legal Counsel (UK, Europe & Asia) for Phillips auctioneers.
