Biography

Olayemi is the managing partner of the firm as well as the partner in charge of the banking and finance and energy and infrastructure practice. Her expertise spans 20 years of extensive advise in banking and finance, capital markets and energy and infrastructure law and she has advised in a significant number of the largest and most sophisticated transactions across diverse industry sectors in Nigeria. She is recognized as a leading lawyer in Nigeria by international legal directories including Legal500, IFLR 100 and Chambers and Partners and has been described by IFLR 1000 as “one of the very few astute commercial lawyers who [asks] what [is the] economic objective the transaction seeks to accomplish', by Chambers and Partners as “a fantastic lawyer who is extremely hard-working and has a good grasp of the law” and Legal500 as “experienced in advising on financings related to the energy and natural resources sectors, telecoms, infrastructure, real estate, financial services and insurance” She plays a very active role in Nigerian business law reforms and, and was an active participant in the drafting of the Credit Recovery Act, 2017. She is on the Editorial Board of the Financial Regulation International, also on the Advisory Board of the International Energy Law Advisory Group(IELAG), a unique legal and regulatory projects consultancy.
