Biography

TRINH NGUYEN, LLM (Australia), MCIArb, Accredited Mediator (ADC) Solicitor, Supreme Court of Victoria Member of HCMC Bar Managing Partner – Trinh Nguyen and Partners (TNP) Trinh Nguyen is one of few lawyers in Vietnam gaining admission to practice law in both Australia and Vietnam. Prior to practicing law, Trinh is a columnist in one of the most popular in Vietnam, covering FDI and foreign relations issues. In her legal career for over 20 years, Trinh worked at international law firms in Vietnam and Australia before she became a partner at one of the biggest local law firms in Vietnam, then setting up a boutique practice Trinh Nguyen & Partners (TNP), where she is accompanied by experienced local lawyers and foreign specialist consultants from various jurisdictions. The firm focusing on ) (1) Infrastructure projects, land-based and sea-based construction contract advisory, (2) Acting as counsel to parties to international arbitration proceedings and litigation proceedings in Vietnam, (3) Corporate and business strategy advisory for market entrance and private equity in Vietnam. Trinh is a sensible but firm negotiator who assists international engineering and architect and contractors in settling contractual issues with large developers in Vietnam. She also acts as counsel for parties in international arbitration proceedings under VIAC rules with respect to multi-million dollars sea-based construction projects and complex cross-border investment disputes issues. She is among a few first Vietnamese lawyers who attended CIArb Diploma Course in International Commercial Arbitration and awarded the membership of the Charter Institute of International Arbitrator. Trinh obtained mediation training in Australia in 2000 and was assessed and accredited as mediator by Australia Disputes Center, which accreditation is cross recognized by CIArb Mediation. Trinh is the first Vietnamese lawyer elected as a Vice Chair of Cross-Border Investment Committee under IPBA, earning recognition for Vietnam within the international legal community. Trinh is now serving her second term 2017-2019 She is a frequent speaker at international conferences and workshops on construction held by IPBA, Law Asia, Society of Construction Law, and Judicial Academy.
