Jean-Francois ADELLE

Biography

Jean-François Adelle is a Partner of Jeantet. Based in Paris, he heads the finance group and is a member of the firm’s legal opinions committee. He is a member of the Paris bar. Jean-François’ practice focuses on debt finance transactions, spanning corporate, acquisition, trade and project, secured lending, debt instruments issuing and debt restructuring, mostly cross border, for a clientele of financial institutions, funds and corporate groups, based in Europe, North America and North and West Africa. He has a regulatory practice covering banking disintermediation, cash management, collateral, derivatives, fiducie (trust) and financial products. He also represents financial institutions and funds in international litigation and arbitration in cases relating to financial and investment transactions and has been involved in several high-profile cases. Jean-François is an officer and treasurer of the banking committee of the International Bar Association. He has led Paris Europlace market committees that inspired legislative reforms on fiducie, collaterals and the ad hoc regime of security agent. He has co-chaired the work stream International financing of the ICC Task force Financial Institutions and International Arbitration (2016). Jean-François regularly speaks and has authored numerous articles and book chapters in the field of finance, including acquisition finance, security, security agent, international cash management, hedge funds, fiducie and jurisdiction clauses. Jean-François is listed as recommended lawyer in Who’s Who Legal, Legal 500 and Legal Experts in France. Jean-François holds post graduate degrees in business and tax (Nancy) and in European community law (Paris Assas), a specialisation certificate of the Paris Institute of Comparative Law and an LL.M. from Penn. He is listed in Who’s Who in France.
