Rodrigo Costeira
Biography
Rodrigo Costeira is a graduate of the Lisbon University Law School (2003). Admitted to the Portuguese Bar in 2005. Following his graduation, Rodrigo focused his practice in the areas of banking and finance, where he actively participated in the drafting and negotiation of loan agreements and security documents for banking institutions. In Miranda, he joined the Projects Group having been deeply involved in advising clients in projects across lusophone Africa jurisdictions in their various stages, including tender process, contractual structuring, and construction through to financing and operation. He acts on behalf of sponsors, lenders and public entities, though his main practice has been to assist multilateral institutions. In this capacity, his experience varies from drafting legislation in the PPP sector, assisting in the restructuring of a utility company and acting as local counsel in private sector financing deals in the energy, telecommunications, transports and industry sectors. Rodrigo has a post-graduate degree in Corporate Law from the Portuguese Catholic University (2008), attended the Miranda Chair in Transnational Finance Law (International Contract Law) at the Portuguese Catholic University (2009), and completed a Post Graduate Course In Debt Finance at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (2015).
