Diego Sierra
Biography
Partner of Von Wobeser y Sierra, S.C. He heads the Anti-corruption and Compliance practice and the Bankruptcy and Restructuring practice in tandem with his active commercial litigation practice. He has lead several anti-corruption investigations, due-diligences, risk assessments and has worked on the implementation of several compliance systems and measures to prevent corruption. Diego Sierra is Vice President of the Anticorruption Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Mexico and Coordinator of the Anti-corruption Postgraduate Degree organized by the ICC Mexico and Universidad Panamericana (Mexico City). In 2014-2016, Diego served as Rapporteur for the IBA’s Judicial Integrity Initiative, a project focused on fighting corruption in the judiciary worldwide. Furthermore, Diego is the Head of the Legal Group of MeXXIco Libre de Corrupción and Co-Chair of the Insolvency Committee, Mexican Bar Association 2017 - 2019. Diego Sierra has published several articles and lectured throughout the world on Anti-corruption issues. Diego Sierra is a graduate from the Escuela Libre de Derecho where he graduated with honors and was President of the Student Council in 2006-2007. He holds a Master of Laws Degree (LL.M.) and a Certificate in Business Administration with honors from Northwestern University School of Law & Kellogg School of Management in Chicago (2011). He was an International Visiting Attorney at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, in New York (2011 - 2012). Diego Sierra is admitted to practice in New York.
