Biography

Partner, TDT Legal, India Tahera is a dual qualified Solicitor of India and England & Wales and she is a Partner of TDT Legal (a full service law firm in India). Tahera heads the firm’s international practice and she is part of the Real Estate, Corporate and Private Client practices of the firm. Tahera has longstanding experience in advising a highly reputed national and international clientele such as investors (including PE investors), developers, lenders, landlords, tenants, limited / general partners, corporates, UHNWIs / NRIs, foreign investors, foreign owned entities and foreign governments on a spectrum of highly complex and high end real estate transactions. Tahera has been involved in structuring and drafting documents for some of the first of their kind and largest real estate deals and major development projects across India. She regularly assists on matters relating to commercial properties and projects (such as hotels, malls and multiplexes), high end residential projects, retail (including, supermarkets, hypermarkets, showrooms / shops), SEZ, IT parks, infrastructure projects, real estate funds and all types of investments in the real estate sector (including foreign direct investments) and real estate financing and debt deals. Tahera is also on the legal panel of reputed national and multinational real estate companies. Amongst others, Tahera has been recognized by Who’s Who Legal, IFLR, Chambers and Partners High Networth Guide, Chambers & Partners Corporate & M&A, APAC Insider, etc. as a leading lawyer internationally and they have highlighted that “Tahera is highly respected due to her professional accomplishments”. Tahera has also authored and contributed to some of the bestselling national and international legal publications including the ‘Law of Conveyancing in India’. Additionally, Tahera holds the post of General Secretary (Legal), Maharashtra of the National Congress of India and she is the Website and Communications officer of IBA’s Law Firm Management Committee.
