Biography

The Honourable Denis Gascon is a judge of the Federal Court in Canada and Chairperson of Canada’s Competition Tribunal. He was appointed to the Federal Court on February 26, 2015 and has headed the Competition Tribunal since May 1, 2015. Prior to joining the bench, Mr. Justice Gascon was a partner with Norton Rose Fulbright Canada in Montreal, where he was heading the firm’s Antitrust and Competition Team. He was also part of the Norton Rose Fulbright global leadership group for their Antitrust and Competition practice. As a lawyer, Mr. Justice Gascon practiced competition law and international trade law for 25 years and, throughout his career, he has been recognized as one of Canada’s leading competition and international trade lawyers.
