Pii Ketvel
Biography
Pii is a law graduate from University of Helsinki (1994) and the London School of Economics (LL.M 1995). Pii joined MARCOL in 2007 from Clyde & Co, where he had been a partner since 2000, to focus on MARCOL’s acquisitions and growth investments across Europe. At MARCOL Pii has a particular interest in companies which have the ambition to grow strongly and become international, provided the right support and funding is made available. At Clyde & Co Pii focused on large ticket cross-border investments in emerging markets, working extensively in Asia, Latin America, Middle East, Former Soviet Union and Africa. In addition to his investment work at MARCOL, Pii is an active start up investor through his family portfolio, and an avid supporter of a number of European initiatives to create growth in Europe. In his native Finland Pii is a founder member of the Start Up Sauna Foundation, which supports SLUSH, the largest non-profit start- up event in the world. As part of his pro bono work, Pii has held a number of leadership positions at the International Bar Association. He is also past board member of the Finnish-British Chamber of Commerce and the Slynn Foundation. Pii and his family’s charitable work focuses on education and science, both in Europe and outside. Pii is fluent in Finnish, English, Swedish and Italian.
