Biography

Diogo heads the Luxembourg tax team. He advises investment firms (Private Equity, Real Estate, NPLs) and multinational companies on their fundraising structures, cross-border holding, financing and IP strategies. He frequently teams up with investment funds specialists to advise GPs and LPs on the tax structuring of regulated or unregulated fund structures (AIFs, Securitisations, other). Diogo also assists Family Offices and HNWIs organizing private wealth. Diogo is member of the Luxembourg Bar, the Portuguese Bar, the International Bar Association and the International Fiscal Association. He is also a member of various Luxembourg working groups focusing on tax matters, including AmCham and the Luxembourg Bankers’ Association (ABBL) analyzing the impact of Common Consolidated Corporate Tax Base. He publishes in renowned international tax journals and acts as a guest speaker at international conferences. Diogo is co-author of BNA’s Private Equity Special Report 2007 (Luxembourg chapter), Bloomberg BNA Tax Planning International, Luxembourg’s Exchange of Information under Tax Treaties 2014, ICLG’s International Comparative Legal Guide to Private Equity, Luxembourg chapter 2016.
