Biography

DAN SPIES is a partner in the Investment Funds practice. He has over 15 years of experience focusing on securities and futures-related investment funds and corporate transactions, including related regulatory matters. Dan regularly advises clients on the formation of hedge funds, private equity funds, hybrid funds, commodity pools, funds of funds, managed accounts and single investor funds. He also assists his clients with the formation and operation of their management entities, including compliance with the Investment Advisers Act and the Commodity Exchange Act. Dan has a particular focus on seed capital arrangements, including seed capital funds and seeding transactions, representing both seeders and recipients of seed funding.
