David Sherman
Biography
David Sherman is a partner in the Investment Funds Group in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he focuses his practice on advising sponsors regarding private equity fund matters, including forming, marketing and managing investment vehicles, launching new business lines, as well as operational, legal and regulatory issues at both the fund and sponsor level. David represents a wide range of sponsors, including publicly-traded global asset managers, prominent middle-market sponsors and first time fund sponsors, across various investment strategies, including buyout, distressed, aviation, special situations, real estate, credit, senior equity and growth equity funds, with fund sizes ranging from $100 million to $10 billion. David also frequently represents sponsors on raising various types of co-investment vehicle structures, including single-deal co-investment vehicles, overage funds and warehouse vehicles. David also counsels sponsor clients on internal economic and governance arrangements, seed investments, spin-outs, conflict transactions and other corporate transactions involving private investment funds.
