Tarek Mardini

Biography

Tarek Mardini is a partner in the private funds practice group of P+P Pöllath + Partners, a leading German law firm with 140 lawyers and tax advisers in Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich. He is based in Berlin, Germany and focuses on private investment funds. Tarek regularly advises German and international fund managers in structuring, marketing and managing private equity, private debt and other private investment funds. On the investor side, he reviewed and negotiated several hundred international fund investments for German institutional investors regarding legal, regulatory and tax aspects. He also regularly advises on secondary fund transactions representing both sellers and buyers in complex portfolio sales and GP-led restructurings. Tarek is a regular speaker at international conferences and has published numerous articles on tax, corporate and regulatory aspects of private equity funds. He is a co-author of a commentary on German tax aspects of private equity funds and co-editor of a private equity funds handbook. He studied law in Berlin (Germany), Glasgow (UK) and the University of Connecticut School of Law (USA). He received a Fulbright Scholarship and Friedrich-Naumann-Scholarship. Tarek is a board member of the German-American Lawyers Association and a member of Invest Europe’s investor regulation working group.
