Biography

Vera Nunes is the Manager of the Investment Fund Manager Team in the Compliance and Registrant Regulation Branch of the Ontario Securities Commission. The Compliance and Registrant Regulation Branch is responsible for the initial and ongoing registration and compliance oversight of firms, for the development of policy and the review of applications for exemptive relief. As the Manager of the IFM Team, Vera is responsible for overseeing the regulation of firms and individuals managing investment funds in Ontario. Vera joined the OSC in 2000 as legal counsel and then manager in the Investment Funds and Structured Products Branch. She has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto and was called to the Ontario bar in 1996 after graduating from the University of Victoria Law School.
