Elizabeth Prewitt

Biography

Elizabeth Prewitt is a partner at Latham & Watkins and her practice focuses on defending companies facing antitrust investigations and litigation. Prior to private practice, Ms. Prewitt spent 16 years as a trial lawyer in the Antitrust Division of the US Department of Justice (DOJ) and successfully tried cases to jury verdict, including as lead trial counsel. She served as the New York Office’s Assistant Chief and as a Visiting International Enforcer to the European Commission in Brussels. Ms. Prewitt led some of the DOJ’s most significant cross-border antitrust cartel matters, including its LIBOR and Foreign Exchange rate-rigging investigations. She twice received the Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service (the DOJ’s second highest award) and trained competition enforcers around the world. Ms. Prewitt has been recognized as a “leading lawyer” by Global Competition Review, Expert Guides, Who’s Who Legal ('one of the leading cartel lawyers in the US' praised for 'deep experience of prosecution matters'), The Legal 500 (“smart and tenacious”), and Chambers USA (“expert in antitrust law” and “very smart, very strategic and very user-friendly.”
