Biography

Harlan Zimmerman is Senior Partner, Cevian Capital, with responsibilities across investment, engagement and business matters of the firm. Cevian is Europe’s largest activist manager, with c. $14 billion focused on constructive activist investing in listed European companies. Cevian is long-only and has an investment horizon of 3-5 years. Its partners frequently join company boards, but it has never had a proxy fight. Current portfolio companies include ABB, Ericsson, Nordea and Thyssenkrupp. He began working with Cevian in 2003 and became a partner in 2007. He is a graduate of the Lauder Institute, where he earned an MBA in Finance from Wharton and an MA in International Relations from Penn. He also earned a BA in IR/Russian from UC Davis.
