Biography

Dr. Susanne Wende is an attorney at the European law firm Noerr, based in the Munich office. She is specialized in European product compliance and product liability law. She advises manufacturing companies from various industries on the legal requirements for the development of new products and defends against complaints by market surveillance authorities in all countries of the European Economic Area. In addition, she assists manufacturers and distributors in international product recalls. She also represents companies in product liability disputes - both in court and out of court. With the rapid pace of digitization more and more questions on liability issues regarding connected devices, autonomization and AI arise. Over the last years, Susanne advised clients in various digitization projects and spoke about the liability aspects on conferences and in-house seminars. Susanne Wende is a lecturer in international product liability law at the Technical University of Berlin. She speaks regularly at events and in in-house trainings on various questions of product and product liability law, in particular in connection with the digitalization of the economy. In 'Rechtshandbuch Industrie 4.0', published by Beck-Verlag, she is the author of the chapter on liability issues.
