Biography

She began her career at Clifford Chance as a banking and finance lawyer. In 1998, Helena joined Virgin Group's global HQ. As Group Legal Director, Helena implemented and managed the Group's first legal panel. In 2005, Helena joined DLA Piper as a Partner in the TMC group. In addition to her fee-earning, she was active in multiple multi-country engagements and business development activities. Helena subsequently joined AlixPartners as General Counsel-EMEA, based in Paris, where she built up the legal, risk management and compliance functions. In 2011, Helena was appointed as General Counsel and Company Secretary of OSN (Orbit Showtime Network), the MENA region's largest Pay TV platform, based in Dubai, spanning 24 countries. She managed a large legal team as well as company secretarial. Helena returned more recently to the UK where she was interim Head of Legal - Media at Liberty Global PLC. In 2019, she joined Lex Mundi, the world's largest membership of leading, independent, law firms in 100 jurisdictions. Throughout, Helena has been an active member of the in-house legal community. She has chaired numerous General Counsel roundtables including in China, the USA, the Middle East and across several European capitals. Helena has been recognised as the leading “Industry Lawyer of the Year” in London (The Lawyer, 2001), and the “Lawyer’ s Lawyer of the Year” in Dubai (DIFC Courts Committee, 2014).
