Dear members of the IBA Litigation Committee,

Welcome to the latest edition of the Litigation Committee’s newsletter.

The increasing importance of ESG issues for lawyers generally, and especially for litigators, is a key focus of this issue. We’re delighted to publish contributions on this topic from jurisdictions as varied as Chile, France, Poland, South Africa, and Spain.

In addition, you’ll find topical articles on the 'group proceedings' procedure in Scotland, the 'right to be forgotten' in Turkey, and anti-suit injunctions in England in support of foreign-seated arbitrations. And for those of us for whom the recent IBA Annual Conference prompted a desire to return to the City of Light, we have the latest contribution in our 'My city' series, devoted to Paris.

Reflecting the quality and breadth of the sessions at the Annual Litigation Forum in Buenos Aires this past May and the Conference on Private International Law in Milan in September, you’ll also find more than half a dozen session reports from those conferences.

Thank you for your interest.  As we look forward to 2024 and the next edition of the newsletter due next spring, we hope you’ll consider submitting a topical contribution of your own.
