Many merger cases involve investigations by multiple authorities around the world. For the merging parties, their advisors and regulators alike, this involves cross-border coordination of strategies and review time lines. At the same time, in many instances the competition (and public interest) issues and remedies, while similar across jurisdictions, may also be local in nature. This panel will discuss the interaction between global and local aspects of merger cases, based on a number of real-life cases.
