Session four - Key issues in arbitration – a comparative study

Description

In this session, lawyers with active arbitration practices and arbitrators will examine how key issues in maritime arbitration are handled in three major arbitration jurisdictions: Singapore, the United States and the United Kingdom. It will also examine how similar issues are addressed in Latin America. The issues under consideration will include commencement of the proceedings and selection of arbitrators, security and the availability of interim relief, discovery/disclosure, the types of damages awarded, consolidation of proceedings, and other issues relevant to arbitrations.
