International Financial Law Virtual Conference
20 Sep - 22 Sep 2021
Session information
Description
Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs) have been a prominent feature of capital markets and M&A deals in the past year. This panel composed of seasoned lawyers from both sides of the Atlantic and a banker will both provide a SPAC primer (What are SPACs? How are they structured? How do they operate?) and address recent developments and market trends. Upcoming changes in the regulatory framework will be described, including increased regulatory scrutiny in the US, relaxation of the UK listing rules, and how that is likely to impact other markets, each trying to attract a piece of the cake. De-SPACing transactions (what’s in a name?) will also receive attention in view of the number of SPACs out there urgently looking for targets.
