Rosanna Amato

Biography

Rosanna Amato conducts post-doctoral research at the Institute of Legal Informatics and Judicial Systems of the National Research Council of Italy (IGSG-CNR), where she also worked as a doctoral associate from 2010 to 2013. In 2014, she obtained a PhD degree in European Union Law from the University of Bologna and the University of Strasbourg, after defending a thesis on network cooperation mechanisms within the EU Area of Freedom, Security and Justice and their impact on the functioning of mutual recognition instruments and mutual assistance procedures. She has mainly worked on research projects concerning judicial and police cooperation, also in the view to support the possible digitalisation of these procedures. Furthermore, she has taken part in projects concerning judicial corruption and the European methodologies for judicial evaluation. Currently, her work mainly concerns the interaction between victims of crime and the justice system, especially victims of gender-based and domestic violence.
