Talbert I Navia

Biography

Talbert Navia, a Harvard Law graduate, is Co-Chair of the Latin America Practice at Winston & Strawn. He was a founding partner of two private equity firms focusing on investments in the US and Latin America. In addition, Talbert co-led investments and served on the executive and investment committees at the private equity firms. He has considerable experience in fund formation, management structuring, and deal execution in private equity. Talbert’s private equity clients in the region include Southern Cross, L Catterton, Oria Capital, Rio Bravo, Siguler Guff, General American Capital Partners, Mas Equity Capital, Exagon Impact Capital, Alba Capital Partners, Sur Capital, Tribeca Asset Management, Miranda Capital, WAMEX, LIV Capital, and Blue Caribbean, among others. Talbert was the lead partner on Grupo Wiese’s sale of NISA Blindados S.A. in connection with the sale of Hermes Transportes Blindados S.A. by Grupo Wiese and the Carlyle Group to CVC Capital Partners which was awarded in 2021 as Private Equity Deal of the Year Award by Latin Lawyer. In addition to private equity, his experience spans a broad range of areas including joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, financings, and corporate restructurings in such industries as telecommunications, media and technology, FinTech, B2B software, sports and entertainment, transportation and logistics, hotels, real estate, consumer products, energy, water, oil and gas, financial services, and retail. Talbert is recognized by Latin Lawyer LL250 for his private equity and fund formation work.
