Biography

Nick Henn is EVP, Chief Legal Officer, Loblaw Companies Limited. In this role, Nick is responsible for the identification and management of legal risks across Loblaw’s businesses including managing issues relating to litigation, labour & employment, privacy, real estate, financial services, commercial contracts and corporate matters. Nick leads a team of approximately 70 legal professionals. Nick has extensive international experience having lived and worked in Europe, Asia and North America. Nick worked in the retail energy industry for a number of years, including spells in the UK, Canada and the US, before joining George Weston in 2016 and subsequently joining Loblaw in November 2017. Nick has a background in corporate and commercial law having started his legal career at the international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, before moving in-house. Nick held senior in-house legal roles at Reuters Group (now Thomson Reuters), Centrica plc and Direct Energy before taking on various business roles, initially in general management and subsequently with a focus on strategy, mergers & acquisitions and corporate development. He moved back to the legal world in 2017 when he joined Loblaws as General Counsel, becoming Chief Legal Officer in 2021. Nick is qualified to practice law in the UK, Hong Kong and Canada. Nick resides with his family in Toronto, Canada
