Biography

Victoria is part of the Abbott Laboratories legal team providing advice in EMEA. She is a well rounded legal profesional that can offer legal advice both in an international and national environment, having had the opportunity to work for some of the most prestigious companies. She is well respected in regards to a published author and someone that gets called upon to offer her legal advice. In 2009 she graduated as a lawyer from the Law School of the University of the Republic of Uruguay (UDELAR). Subsequently, she did a postgraduate degree in "Transparency, Public Ethics and Anticorruption" at the University of Litoral in Argentina (Universidad del Litoral de Argentina) and in addition, she also obtained a Master's degree in Economic Administrative Law from the University of Montevideo (Uruguay). In 2011, she was appointed as an assistant Professor of Constitutional Law at the UDELAR Law School. In 2012 she was a finalist for the “Rogelio de la Guarda Scholarship” of the IBA Latin American Regional Forum for her work related to investment in infrastructure in Uruguay. Later, she won the “Jack Batievsky” scholarship for her work related to the impacts of the SOPA law in Latin America. In 2014, by virtue of her pro-bono work, she was distinguished as a finalist for the IBA Pro Bono Award 2014. In 2014 and 2015, she worked as a professor of Business Law at the ORT University (Uruguay), in the Management and Administration degree. She actively participated in the co-government of the Law School of UDELAR (Uruguay) for more than 12 years. She is the author of several articles on topics of her specialty (public law and life science), which have been published in national and international publications. In Uruguay, she worked for 10 years at Ferrere Abogados, one of the most prestigious law firms in Latin America with offices in Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia. Upon arriving in Madrid (2015), she joined the firm Martinez-Echevarría Abogados with the aim of creating a LATAM DESK and strengthening the relationship between the firm and Latin America. Since March 2016 she has been part of the legal team at Abbott Laboratories that provides advice to the Iberian Peninsula. In these years at Abbott she also had the opportunity to provide legal support to North Africa -French Africa Cluster- (2021) and, as part of a Learning Gig, during 2022 she will support the UK, Ireland and the Nordic countries.
