Biography

Dr Ana Elizabeth Bastida specialises in law, policy, governance, and international cooperation concerning natural resources, and on the much-needed disciplinary, regulatory, and operational shifts towards sustainable and just futures. Her perspective is global, inasmuch as it looks at the intersection of energy and natural resources law with the global economy, investment, environmental and human rights law, and at the interdependence of multilevel normative orders for understanding problems and possible pathways to solutions. She has over 25 years-experience in academic and advisory positions for governments and a range of organisations. She is an associate professor (senior lecturer) of Sustainability Transitions in Global Resources Law & Governance at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP), University of Dundee, UK, where she now leads the MSc in Sustainability programme. She is a qualified lawyer in Argentina (Specialisation in Environmental and Natural Resources Law, University of Buenos Aires, cum laude); LL.M and Ph.D (CEPMLP/Dundee).
