Biography
Maria Carmela MACRI is Head of Legal Business, M&A, Finance, Contract Management and Tenders at Italgas SpA.
She is an expert of Energy Law and Antitrust Law. Over the years in Italgas she has consolidated experience in legal affairs and corporate governance, by holding different positions in Italgas Legal Department, providing legal and compliance advice and assistance to the business management team and key staff functions. She has followed numerous M&A transactions and resolutions of antitrust and regulatory issues for the companies of Italgas Group. She is also head of the Antitrust Presidium aimed at ensuring the antitrust compliance of Italgas Group. She is member of the board of directors of Medea SpA and Seaside SpA, two companies of Italgas Group.
In Italgas she has been appointed Digital Ambassador to support Italgas Group in creating an environment of digital innovation and best practice, ensuring the use of technologies and developing a roadmap for innovation with the relevant processes and tools. Recently, she has also been appointed D&I Ambassador to promote the implementation of inclusion and diversity programs in Italgas Group.
She passed the Bar exam and registered with the competent Bar Council in Italy in 2000 and before joining Italgas Group, she has worked for international Law Firms in Italy and abroad.
She obtained her law degree with honors (summa cum laude) from Università degli Studi La Sapienza, Law Faculty, Roma in 1998 and also obtained a Masters degree on EU Law and Economics from Università degli Studi La Sapienza, Economics Faculty, in 2000.
