Lawyer, arbitrator, dispute board member and lecturer. Has worked on construction and engineering projects and disputes in Latin America, Europe and Asia. Currently works as disputes global expert at the Engie Group and is general counsel of Engie in Peru. Sits regularly as arbitrator, dispute board member and acts as legal expert. Lecturer on construction law and dispute resolution in Peru and visiting lecturer at Kings College London, Universidad de Rosario, Argentina and Universidad de los Andes, Chile. Was in charge of the translation to Spanish and adaptation of the Framework Alliance Contract FAC-1. As an arbitrator, is involved mainly on construction and engineering disputes related to private and public works contracts for the construction of power plants, mineral processing plants, sewage projects, roads, hospitals, shopping malls, schools, buildings and public private partnership contracts. Recognized as a distinguished arbitrator by Arbitrator Intelligence and as a highly recommended arbitrator by Leaders League. Has worked previously as deputy general counsel of Volcan Compañía Minera S.A.A., a Peruvian mining company, where he led the legal strategy and work on a wide range of legal matters related to mining and energy projects, M&A, corporate finance, commercialization of minerals, labor and tax. Previously, has worked as legal counsel at Alstom Power’s (now part of General Electric) headquarters in Switzerland, dealing with all legal matters related to its’ power service business; mainly negotiating engineering and construction contracts worldwide. Has worked in engineering and construction disputes for Hogan Lovells in London and has worked in financing transactions, M&A, PFI/PPP, real estate, banking and antitrust for a leading law firm in Peru. Holds an Msc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution, Kings College London and is the Kings College London Alumni Leader in Peru. Member of the ICC Latin American Group. Regularly speaks at local and international conferences and publishes articles on law and other topics. Founder of the Peruvian Society of Construction Law. Co-leader of one of the working groups of ICC’s task force on “Arbitration and ADR”. Member of ICC’s task force on "Arbitration of Climate Change Related Disputes". He is used to working on international environments and teams. Has lived and worked in Japan, Switzerland, England and Peru. Fluent in Spanish and English, basic German and Japanese.
