Biography

Partner at Grinberg e Cordovil, practicing in Brazil, Karen advises clients on a full range of antitrust and competition issues, in both contentious and non-contentious matters. She had the opportunity to handle landmark cases, mainly related to cartel investigations and merger control cases. Her experience spans from strategic assessment and crafting claims and defenses to settlement evaluation and negotiation of agreements with antitrust authorities, besides contentious cases related to the antitrust law, including damage claims. Karen has been recognized as one of the main practitioners in her field of expertise by specialized publications. She holds a Ph.D. in Commercial Law (focus on Antitrust/Competition Law) from the University of São Paulo – USP; was a Visiting Researcher at Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, Hamburg, Germany; and holds a Master of Economic Law from the Federal University of Minas Gerais – UFMG.
