Biography

Antitrust and foreign investment control lawyer and partner at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo in Madrid with significant experience of all aspects of Spanish and international antitrust and foreign investment control. Read law at Downing College, Cambridge 1993-1996, called to the Bar of England and Wales by Lincoln's Inn, 1997, and Abogado del Colegio de Abogados de Madrid since 2002. Was Pupil and Barrister at 13 Old Square (the Chambers of Michael Lyndon Stanford, now Maitland Chambers), then Associate at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton 1998-2002, Associate, Partner and Practice head at Cuatrecasas in Madrid 2002-2023, and Partner at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo since 2023. An active member of the IBA since 2008, as a member and later co-chair of the Unilateral Conduct Working Group, joining the Committee as Newsletter Editor (2020-2022 - to receive the newsletter, please update your email preferences!), Publications Officer (2023-2024 - all contributions to CLI are most welcome), and now Working Group Officer (2025-2026). He is also President of the ICC Spain Competition Chapter and a former Secretary of the Spanish FDI Association (AEFDI) and Board Member of the Spanish Competition Law Association (AEDC). Hall of Fame in Legal 500, Who's Who Legal Thought Leader, Band 2 in Chambers, and, a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, GCR 40 under 40 (2012); and Iberian Lawyer 40 under 40 (2011).
