Biography

Luca Tres Head of EMEA Strategic Risk and Capital Life Solutions Luca is Guy Carpenter’s Head of Strategic Risk and Capital Life Solutions EMEA, where he supports insurance clients across their capital management, derisking and financing needs. Among which, Luca recently closed what is -by distance- the largest lapse reinsurance treaty in Europe. He joined from Securis Investment Partners where, as Head of Life and Partner in the London office, he led the life origination and structuring activities globally. Before that he held various positions at Deutsche Bank London within the Global Capital Markets division, where after few years of capital markets transactions (financing, derivatives, etc), he joined the European Structured Insurance and Bank Solutions team, pioneering Solvency II driven hedging and capital optimization structures.. Across all the positions, he successfully sourced and structured highly innovative solutions around capital, financing and risk management for insurance companies, reinsurers and banks globally. Luca is also a frequent speaker at leading (re)insurance conferences as well as a contributor on the industry’s magazines across reinsurance and capital markets topics. He holds a Master of Science in Finance and an Undergraduate degree in Financial Institutions and Markets Management, both ‘cum laude’ from Bocconi University in Milan and has studied also at Fudan University in Shanghai.
