Biography

Alexander Ritvay is one of the two Managing Partners of the German firm Noerr and a leading M&A practitioner with extensive experience in complex transactions and cross border projects. Due to his previous roles as a managing director and board member of leading media companies, Alexander also has substantial management experience. On leave from the firm in the years 2000 – 2003 Alexander was, inter alia, Chairman and director of the Formula One Group of companies. From 2004-2005 he served as Chairman of Odeon Cinemas Ltd., London (UK), and as a member of the board of Swan Capital, the holding company for the Mid Kent water utility south of London, in the context of their restructurings. A graduate from the University of Augsburg, he worked as a research assistant at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, obtained the Diplôme d’études supérieures from the University of Geneva and received his Ph.D. (doctor iuris) from Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena. He is admitted to the Bar of Berlin.
