Biography

PROFILE Dalton James Albrecht advises and represents clients on cross-border VAT/customs and on international trade law matters, including anti-dumping/countervailing/safeguard matters, as well as NAFTA and WTO/GATT related matters, including investment restrictions and trade in services. Dalton is a recognized expert in Chambers Global, Who's Who World's Leading (WWL) Trade & Customs lawyers , Lexpert, Best Lawyers in Canada (U.S. ed.) Canadian sales, use, and commodity tax matters, including the Goods and Services Tax and Harmonized Sales Tax (GST/HST), federal excise taxes and duties as well as customs law value for duty, tariff classification, export controls/sanctions, import controls and duty relief. He is founding member of the GST Leaders' Forum think tank. He is a retired partner of EY Law LLP Canada and currently Of Counsel to EY Law as well as practicing independently in non-EY matters under DJA Consulting Legal Professional Corporation. Dalton appears before the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT), the Tax Court of Canada (GST/HST) and the Federal Court of Appeal.
