Biography

Elizabeth (Liza) Lenas is the Leader of Cleary Gottlieb’s Global Private Funds Group, advising many of the world’s most sophisticated alternative asset managers on complex fund formations and investment strategies. Widely recognized as a market leader, she is ranked Band 1 by Chambers in both the USA and Global guides for Private Equity: Fund Formation. Her practice spans the full lifecycle of private funds, with deep experience in fund formation and the structuring of complex co-investment and managed account arrangements, as well as other strategic platform matters. She represents sponsors across private equity, credit, venture, impact, and growth strategies and has been at the forefront of developing innovative investment vehicles, including one of the largest evergreen funds ever raised. Liza also advises leading limited partners on fund commitments and investments and regularly guides clients through high-stakes, sensitive investment-related matters. Her clients include Sixth Street, Sequoia Capital, KKR, Hillhouse, TPG, and Cascade Asset Management Company. She serves on the Organizing Committee of the IBA’s Annual International Conference on Private Investment Funds and is a member of Cleary Gottlieb’s Executive Committee, as well as New York Co-Chair of the firm’s U.S. Pro Bono Committee.
