Biography
Patricia has a well-established track record advising companies in the mining and energy sectors, as well as in the services and infrastructure industries. Since 1989, she has been involved in key transactions, including Colombia’s major power sector privatizations, where she represented investors on legal, regulatory, and financial matters. Her experience also includes advising multinational mining companies on corporate, regulatory, and M&A matters, positioning her as a leading figure in the sector thanks to her strategic vision and deep technical expertise. Patricia began her legal career at the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, where she worked in the Legal Vice Presidency, and later joined a law firm specializing in foreign trade matters. In 1993, she joined Pérez-Llorca, and since 2000, she has been a partner. She has advised on the structuring, sale, and acquisition of electric power companies and played a key role in various privatization processes in Colombia’s energy sector. Her experience includes permanent legal and regulatory counsel to major thermal power generators on the Atlantic coast, as well as advisory work for projects such as Calamarí LNG S.A. E.S.P. and Colombia’s first gas regasification plant. She has also advised on mineral transportation projects and supported transactions such as the acquisition of Talasa by Hydro Global, as well as the legal structuring of mining companies for groups like Grupo Energía Bogotá and others involved in cross-border mining acquisitions and operations.
