Biography

Katherine Tew Darras is the General Counsel of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Inc. (ISDA). Since joining ISDA in 2001, she has held a series of senior roles and has served as General Counsel since 2016. She leads ISDA’s global legal strategy and advises on governance, regulatory, and market infrastructure issues affecting ISDA’s membership of more than 900 institutions across 70+ countries. Ms. Darras oversees the development of legal opinions and interpretive guidance supporting the enforceability close out netting under ISDA documentation across 80+ jurisdictions and has led many of ISDA’s most significant documentation initiatives, including equity, inflation, and interest rate contractual enhancements and major market transitions such as Dodd Frank, EMIR, and global IBOR reform.
