Andrea Marvan Saltiel
Biography
Andrea Marván is a renowned lawyer specialized in economic competition with more than 20 years of experience in the public and private sectors. Throughout her career, she has promoted competition as a key tool to protect consumers, encourage innovation, and strengthen more fair and dynamic markets. She joined the Federal Economic Competition Commission (Cofece) in 2012, holding the positions of Deputy Director General of Absolute Monopolistic Practices and Chief of Staff of the Investigative Authority. She was later appointed Director General of Competition Promotion and was also Chair of the Federal Economic Competition Commission. In October 2025, she was ratified by the Senate as Commissioner of the National Antitrust Commission (CNA), and was later appointed by President Claudia Sheinbaum as Chair. At the international level, she served as Vice President of the OECD Competition Committee Bureau from 2023 to 2025, and in May 2025, was elected Chair of the Steering Group of the International Competition Network (ICN), a position from which her efforts are focused on strengthening cooperation, convergence, and innovation in the enforcement of competition law worldwide.
