Biography

Leopoldo Hernández Romano. He is the Managing Partner of KermaPartners. Based in Mexico City, Leopoldo primarily advises law firms on strategic planning and implementation, organizational transformation projects, partner and associate compensation schemes, as well as corporate governance matters. Leopoldo also serves as an advisor to Ibero-American and Latin American alliances in their positioning strategies and talent retention efforts. For seven years, he was the founding Partner and Managing Director of the firm HernándezRomano Consultores, S.C. Prior to establishing his consultancy, Leopoldo served as COO of the Mexico office of one of the top 10 New York law firms, where he was responsible for financial, administrative, human resources, and IT matters. Previously, he worked for more than twelve years at one of Latin America’s leading cotton trading companies, serving as Board Secretary and Commercial Director. Leopoldo holds a law degree and an MBA. For over 30 years, he has been a professor at the Law School of Universidad Panamericana, Mexico City campus, teaching International Trade, International Commercial Arbitration, and Law Firm Management. He has served as Secretary, Deputy Coordinator, and Coordinator of the Law Firm Management Committee of the Mexican Bar Association, A.C. Where he has also served as a member of the Board of Directors. He is an active member of the International Bar Association (IBA), and was also a founding member of the Mexico chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA). Since 2016, he has been a member of the Board of Appleseed Mexico, where he served as Board Chair until November 2024. Additionally, he is a founding member of UNE Mexico, a civil society platform, and is part of the leadership body of the National Civic Front, as well as Unid@s. He regularly publishes and delivers presentations on law firm strategy and management.
