Biography

Hugo leads the firm's Business Development, Marketing & Communications strategy. He is a lawyer with over 15 years of experience working in the US, Europe, and Latin America for a wide range of clients spanning private individuals, SMEs, and corporations both in regional and global scales, understanding their needs and designing business and legal strategies to solve their challenges. After starting his professional career as in-house counsel for one of the largest industrial real estate developers in Mexico, Hugo went on to work in the legal services and investment fund industries in London. He has held several leadership positions in relation to business development, litigation funding, financial services, global mobility, and government relations. In his seven years in the United Kingdom, Hugo gained invaluable international experience handling global initiatives and complex legal issues particularly across antitrust and commercial litigation matters. Prior to joining GC, Hugo also led numerous legal projects out of Miami and Brazil. Hugo has a proven track record of building teams from the ground up particularly around business development matters and is used to taking the lead on relevant issues with key industry players including several relationships with law firms worldwide. He is a strong advocate of the role business professionals play across the legal sector and is experienced in legal operations and strategies including law firm expansion plans and the design of regional initiatives.
