Biography

As a criminal defence lawyer, I assist my clients in navigating the complexities of the legal system, providing expert and honest advice at every stage of the process. I work with people accused of wrongdoing at every level – from driving charges and drug offences to sexual assault and murder. My job is to achieve the best outcomes for my clients, whether that be negotiating a favourable resolution with prosecutors, obtaining the best outcome possible on a plea of guilty, or avoiding a conviction altogether. With over 15 years’ experience, I manage a diverse caseload of summary, trial, and appellate matters. I appear regularly in all Victorian courts. With access to a team of expert criminal defence lawyers at Doogue + George, I am fortunate to work together with colleagues to achieve exceptional outcomes for our clients. I also work collaboratively with barristers, including Senior Counsel, to ensure my clients obtain the best advice and representation possible. Beyond traditional criminal defence work, I assist applicants and respondents to intervention orders, as well as clients requiring assistance with regulatory bodies. This includes drafting submissions for applications to suspend Sex Offender Registration reporting obligations, and for clients seeking clearances such as Working With Children Checks. Being charged with a criminal offence or facing regulatory action is a daunting and stressful experience. It is a privilege to guide my clients through the process with realistic and clear advice.
