Biography

Stephania Bresque is a senior legal executive with over 15 years of international experience advising multinational organizations on legal, compliance, and governance matters. She currently serves as Director, Legal Counsel at UPM, where she leads the legal function for Uruguay and is a member of the local management team, advising on strategic investments, regulatory matters, stakeholder negotiations, and dispute resolution. Stephania previously held global and regional roles within UPM, including Group Counsel, Privacy, based in Helsinki, where she led the implementation of the company’s global privacy governance framework, and Compliance Counsel for the Americas, overseeing regulatory compliance programs across multiple jurisdictions and supporting cross-border business operations and strategic projects. Before joining UPM, she worked in private practice advising international clients on corporate, regulatory, and data protection matters. Stephania holds a Legal Degree and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA.
