Biography

Amit Bansal was admitted to the Bar in 1993. He obtained his basic law degree, LL.B. from University of Delhi in 1993 and subsequently, obtained an LL.M. degree from Northwestern University School of Law in 1994. He was one of the founding Partners of a commercial law firm, Kundra & Bansal. As a lawyer, Amit specialized in different forms of Dispute Resolution, including commercial business litigation, international commercial arbitration, employment and property disputes, consumer disputes and disputes relating to companies/shareholders. He represented Indian and multinational corporates as well as private clients before various judicial forums and arbitral tribunals in India as well as abroad. Amit Bansal was appointed as Judge of Delhi High Court on 24th February, 2021. As a Judge, he sat on the commercial bench, including commercial appellate division. He has also been a part of the Intellectual Property Division of the Delhi High Court and decided complex disputes involving intellectual property, including the first post trial verdict in an SEP infringement suit.
