A symposium presented by the India Working Group of the IBA Asia Pacific Regional Forum and supported by the IBA Arbitration Committee and the IBA Litigation Committee
Topics include:
- The rule of law – will the rule of law and the justice delivery system in India offer a competitive edge over other developing economies? Can uniform laws and justice delivery mechanisms drive us towards a borderless world?
- An arbitrator should also be competent to be an amiable compositeur or mediator
- What are the new rules, methodologies and developments in arbitration law and practice? Are the new amendments proposed for India’s arbitration law likely to be game changers? How do these compare with the recently enacted UK Arbitration Act 2025?
- Emerging issues in intellectual property and artificial intelligence
- White-collar crime, bribery and corruption – a comparative analysis
- Privacy, GDPR and the new Digital Personal Data Protection Act: where is the freedom of speech on the one hand and regulation of social media on the other?
- The benefits and impact of artificial intelligence on dispute resolution – is India’s Grand Trunk Road warning ‘speed thrills but kills’ at all relevant in this context?
- This House believes that social media is the only safe and reliable outlet for information in an increasingly regulated world
