Biography

I believe that both dispute resolution and transactional work are ultimately about communication: listening carefully, asking the right questions, and understanding what truly matters to the client. I am a founding partner of ECC, focusing on international arbitration and complex commercial disputes, with experience in financial and maritime matters. For over a decade, I have represented local and international clients before courts of all instances and in arbitration proceedings under ICC, ISTAC, SCC, DIA, GAFTA, FOSFA and various ad hoc frameworks. My practice encompasses the entire life cycle of disputes, including pre-arbitration strategy, arbitral proceedings, and post-arbitration litigation, such as enforcement and set-aside actions. I also advise clients on banking and finance projects, corporate matters, ship finance, ship sale and purchase transactions, and cross-border registrations. Beyond my professional work, I am a sailor. Sailing has shaped the way I approach both disputes and transactions: reading conditions early, respecting risk, staying calm under pressure, and adjusting strategy as circumstances change. It has also instilled a strong sense of discipline and focus, which naturally informs my work in maritime and commercial matters. Alongside my practice, I am actively involved in the international legal community. I currently serve as an Officer of the IBA Maritime and Transport Law Committee, Regional Representative for the Black Sea, and previously served as the ICC Young Arbitrators Forum Representative for Turkey (2019–2021). Working languages: Turkish, English, and French.
