Ceren Cakır
Biography
Ceren Çakır is the founding partner of ECC, specializing in international and domestic arbitration. Her expertise spans commercial, financial, and shipbuilding contracts, including charter parties and insurance disputes. Ceren represents local and international clients in arbitration proceedings under the ICC, ISTAC, SCC, DIA, FOSFA, and GAFTA, as well as in ad hoc proceedings governed by the LMAA, English Arbitration Act, IAL, and CPL. She is well-versed in pre-arbitration and post-arbitration litigation, including enforcement of foreign arbitral awards and set-aside proceedings. Ceren's extensive experience also covers corporate consultancy, banking and finance projects, debt recovery, ship finance, restructuring projects, investment consultancy in Türkiye, and selling, purchasing, and registering ships and companies in both local and foreign registries. Ceren holds an LLM degree in International and Comparative Law from Lausanne University. She is committed to mentoring the next generation of lawyers. She has served as the ICC YAF Representative for Türkiye (2019-2021) and the Chair of the Young ISTAC Future Arbitration Counsel Moot Committee (2016-2019). She is fluent in Turkish, English, and French.
