Rick Liu

Biography

Rick Liu leads go to market efforts at Harvey, the legal AI platform used by 60% of the AmLaw 100 and major global corporations. He works with law firms and in-house legal departments on how AI is transforming legal workflows across transactions, investigations, compliance, and disputes. He joined Harvey as an early employee and one of the first former practicing lawyers on the team. Before Harvey, Rick spent 14 years in legal practice. He was a white collar defense and securities litigation attorney at Morrison & Foerster and Perkins Coie, where he worked on a corporate monitorship. He then served as APAC Investigations Counsel at Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Singapore for four years, leading cross-border internal investigations and engaging with regulators across the Asia-Pacific region. He later joined Coupang in Korea in an in-house compliance role. Rick speaks regularly at IBA conferences on the intersection of AI and legal practice, including recent sessions at the IBA Annual Litigation Forum in Madrid, the IBA M&A in Latin America conference in Punta del Este, the IBA M&A in Technology Conference in Barcelona, and the IBA Energy Legal Lab in Doha. Rick holds a JD from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and a BS from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service.
