Biography

Kei Ito, a partner of Nishimura & Asahi, based in Tokyo, specializes in finance and has significant experience in a wide range of areas, such as investment funds/asset management, securities, derivatives, and FinTech, catering to both domestic and international clients. He is also responsible for the firm’s China practice. Kei is one of the leading partners of the firm’s investment fund/asset management practice group. He has significant experience advising on various investment funds (ranging from traditional mutual funds and ETFs to alternative investments such as private equity funds, as well as climate funds and other funds with sustainable investment objectives), providing asset management firms and other clients with regulatory advice on securities transactions, banking, derivatives, FinTech, structured finance transactions, and in a wide variety of other finance-related areas. Kei is very well versed in international finance transactions, catering to both domestic and international clients on various cross-border matters.
