Biography

Magda is Senior Special Counsel in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Office of International Affairs, where she represents the SEC in the work of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and the Financial Stability Board (FSB). In this role, Magda advises senior leadership on international regulatory developments and provides subject matter expertise on investment fund regulation, financial sector vulnerabilities, data protection frameworks, and the implementation of global regulatory standards. Prior to joining the SEC, Magda was an Associate at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP in Washington, D.C., where she advised clients on corporate governance and complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and venture capital and private equity investments. Magda earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from American University Washington College of Law and a B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Rochester.
