Biography

Zhang Fangzhou is a Partner at JunHe LLP, where he focuses on corporate and M&A transactions, foreign direct investment, and regulatory compliance in the life sciences and healthcare industry. He advises domestic and international clients across the full deal lifecycle, from transaction structuring and legal due diligence through document negotiation, signing, and post-closing matters. Mr. Zhang's sector experience spans pharmaceuticals (biologics, chemical drugs, and traditional Chinese medicine), medical devices, in vitro diagnostics, and healthcare services. He has acted for a distinguished roster of clients that includes Temasek, PAG, Siemens Healthineers, BD, Roche, Grifols, BioNTech, Gilead, Waters, Sino Biopharmaceutical, Genor Biopharma, Yangtze River Pharmaceutical, Sinopharm Group, Shanghai Pharmaceuticals, Tasly, BioRay, Innovent Biologics, Zelgen Biopharmaceuticals, Chia Tai Tianqing, and Yiling Pharmaceutical, among others. Mr. Zhang is recognized as a Recommended Lawyer in Life Sciences and Healthcare by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific. His work on the Temasek-led Series C financing of Abogen was selected as one of China Business Law Journal's Deals of the Year. He holds both the PRC bar qualification and admission to the New York State Bar. Mr. Zhang received his Bachelor of Laws from the Law School of Wuhan University (with an exchange year at the University of Helsinki), and holds Master of Laws degrees from New York University School of Law and KoGuan Law School at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
